During her time at Potomac State College, Sarah not only wrote articles for the student paper, but during her sophomore year, she also served as co-editor of the Pasquino newspaper. She made a number of decisions regarding the content of the paper as well as reviewing other student-written articles for grammar, spelling and style errors.
Sarah's English degree included classes in technical editing, creative writing, and literature. As a journalism major, Sarah took classes in editorial writing, political science, feature writing, and media law.
Graduation anticipated for May 2014. My course load has covered a broad range of subjects, including family, criminal, civil, tort, and constitutional law.
Through a number of freelance websites and direct contact with potential clients, Sarah has written marketing material ranging from basic website content, SEO content, press releases and blog articles. Her work has been featured on a number of businesses' websites and on sites like LiveStrong.com and eHow.com.
As a journalist and later copy editor, Sarah has more than six years' experience in the publishing field. Beginning as a reporter in a branch office, Sarah covered county and municipal meetings, court trials, and feature stories. Some of these articles were picked up by the Associated Press. Eventually moving on to the position of copy editor, Sarah reviewed articles for grammar, style and factual consistencies. She also did the pagination for the front page and some of the special features sections daily paper.
Sarah is currently a general practice attorney in the state of Maryland. Prior to passing the Maryland Bar in December of 2014, she worked as a law clerk for two years. As a clerk, she drafted appellate briefs, legal pleadings, and interrogatories. During law school, she also worked as a freelance writer, and wrote a number of blog posts for both local and out-of-state law firms. Prior to her legal career, Sarah was a reporter and then copy editor at a Western Maryland newspaper.
