Evan writes articles, blog posts, and screenplays.
Evan likes to write about movies, TV shows, books, history, and travel.
Evan has written a blog in which he discusses movies and other topics. He has also done stand-up comedy, and he has acted in plays. He wrote and performed a one-man show at the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival. He has written three screenplays, one of which is currently a semi-finalist in the Final Draft Big Break screenwriting contest.
Evan started his blog in 2009. He named it after a scam that was common in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A confidence man tells his mark that he knows a rich man being held prisoner in Spain. He tells the mark that if he gives him money, he can use it to secure the release of the rich man, who will then give the mark a large reward. Evan sees this as a metaphor for how the world often seems to promise a great deal but fails to deliver.
Evan posted film reviews at first, but then he began to post on other topics, such as politics, history, travel, music, and art in general. Evan hasn’t posted anything in a while, because he has been busy with other things, but he hopes to post more at some point in the future.
