Grace Y. has been freelancing professionally for over five years, with dozens of literary publications under her belt, and a resume that spans from conventional articles to marketing writing to poetry.

She graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in English and was a member of the elite Writing for the Stage and Screen program. She received the Outstanding Achievement in Rhetorical Studies award shortly before her graduation.

Grace has worked in marketing for over a year, providing marketing materials and copy for nationally recognized non-profit Hope Renovations.

In 2022, Grace was selected as a playwright for The Process Series, and her one-act, "Smirit Se," was live-read and workshopped at the Evening of New Work. She served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Limeaid for a year, after working her way up from Writer to Head Writer. Back in September 2020, Grace won the inaugural Zachary Doss Friends in Letters Memorial Fellowship for her poetry along with the illustrations of Hayden Park. She was also nominated for a Best of the Net award in Fall 2019 for her prose poem, "The Dithyramb."

Currently, Grace is exploring screenwriting as a Script Writer for Headfone, developing audio episodes as the company expands to an American audience.

Grace is a jack-of-all-trades with experience and knowledge in many different fields. She automatically leans towards imaginative and innovative work, such as blogging, articles, scripts, and other forms of creative writing. She also enjoys marketing development and is excellent at molding her voice to fit what a brand requires of her. Lastly, Grace has years of research experience in academia and is enthused at the possibility of continuing research-intensive work.

Interests

Grace is a lifelong music lover, serving for three years as a Disc Jockey on WXYC-Chapel Hill. She spends a lot of her free time consuming art and media in some form -- she hosts a weekly movie night with her closest friends, and also hosts a weekly writing workshop! Grace is an avid foodie, exploring restaurants in the Triangle area and new recipes to bake. Most of all, she's an avid people person and loves getting to work with others.

Now at The Poetry Cafe, a newly syndicated radio show at North Carolina Public Radio, she provides all copy for Twitter, Tumblr, Patreon, Tiktok, and Eventbrite when necessary.
