Katherine Skeldon is a graduate of Concord University in West Virginia. She has a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication. There she developed the basis of her writing experience. She wrote promos for a radio workshop, scripts in TV workshop and broadcasting classes, along with MLA and AP style papers for a number of other various classes. The range of writing experience that she garnered while at school was broad and expansive. To make an income while at school without having to work a full-time job, Katherine worked as a freelance writer for a couple of online content writing sites. During the summer of 2018, she started a paid internship at a television station known as WVVA out of Bluefield, WV. At WVVA, she acquired the basic skills of working as a multi-media journalist. She would go out in the field to gather, film, and write various stories and then return to the station to edit them for the evening newscasts. After graduating from Concord in December of 2020, Katherine got a full-time job as a reporter for another TV station, WOAY in Oak Hill, WV. She still currently works at WOAY until her two-year contract is up in January of 2023. Since being at this station, she has significantly grown her experience of going out in the field, writing, filming, and editing local news stories. Katherine is very versatile in her writing abilities and enjoys writing stories, articles, and content of a number of types and varieties.
