While working as a content editor, Katie frequently had to write copy to better engage readers. Most often, this included photo captions and project introduction paragraphs.
One of her more challenging projects was a quilting book in which the writer provided a bullet list of important information the step-by-step projects. Katie took the author’s copy and expanded it into detailed copy that would more greatly appeal to readers.
Katie has written blog posts and email copy for her real estate clients. Her favorite project was a short, informative eBook intended for home sellers. It included actionable advice for home sellers on how to sell their home for the most profit and the potential pitfalls that should be avoided.
Katie worked with a small business marketing firm to improve their website copy. She went through and revamped their existing copy to help the firm attract more clients. Some areas simply needed an editorial pass, while others needed a larger overhaul. When she needed more substance, she asked the firm detailed questions that would help their potential clients better know the firm.
Katie worked with a real estate agent to better inform his clients on how to sell their homes for the most profit. The agent provided her with a general topic for each blog post. She then researched and wrote 20 blog posts that he eventually combined into a short eBook.
