Ann can write about almost anything - from aliens that land on our planet and use their razor sharp teeth to destroy us all, to automotive ads, cheeseburger descriptions, architectural and interior design themes, pets, fashion, women's issues and general observations. She has written blogs, articles, proposals (RFP responses), commercials, website copy and movie scripts.
While Ann has yet to write a specifications or instruction manual, she believes those are not beyond her capabilities.
Ann loves a challenge, and has found she can become very interested in things she never would have thought, so she never rules anything out. However, most of her experience and interests lie in composing articles or blog posts that involve a little observation and a good dollup of research and humor. She loves animals, but has rarely had the opportunity to write about them - except on her own Facebook and Instagram posts. She likes writing about the issues women face throughout their lives - including the "after 40" life changes - from physical to emotional. She has written about fashion, TV and movies, marriage, and her own cardiac ablasion procedure. She listens to a sports radio station nearly all day, for some bizarre reason she can't quite explain, and during this Covid-19 pandemic, has discovered a fascination for birds and an irrepressible urge to buy them food, despite their having managed quite well before she was paying attention.
Ann was fortunate to find the job she wanted, as a copywriter, without attending a four year institution to get it. Although she did attend approximately two years of college concentrating on Radio/TV/Film and strangely, Early Childhood Education. Ann actually believes the Early Childhood Education has helped her the most in dealing with Creative Directors, CEOs and the guy at the stoplight who won't put his phone down and drive.
From those early experiences she was able to have a successful career as a Marketing Director for a global Architecture and Interior Design firm for 15 years - then move on to positions as an editor in chief - and a business development specialist and writer.
Radio and TV advertising. Ann saw projects through from initiation to completion, writing scripts, casting talent, producing and directing.
15 years as marketing director for a global architecture and interior design firm, and two years as marketing manager for a commercial real estate firm . Aviation, data centers, schools, corporate projects and more. Ann has written about them all.
From her experience as editor in chief for an online publication targeting women in their 50s+, Ann has a great deal of experience talking to women, marketing to them, and actually being one.
In her roles as a marketing and business development professional, Ann has accumulated experience in a broad range of materials. She has worked with graphic artists and designers to create brochures and websites, she have studied SEO, AdWords, and enjoyed a thorough education in social media. She can do good ole' printed materials, presentations, proposals, and pretty much anything you might need. If she can't, she will tell you.
30+ years of experience in advertising and marketing tells her she should be truthful - at least about herself.
In her blog posts, emails, and scripts, Ann adds humor whenever she can. She has a unique voice readers enjoy coming back to again and again.
While editor in chief for an online publication for women, Ann was responsible for a monthly fashion article - featuring herself. She also supplemented with additional articles as needed to promote seasonal items and increase online affiliate sales.
Dating back to the architecture and interior design experience, Ann worked with the project leads to create case studies on their marketable projects for future use online and in proposals and presentations.
Ann has written and produced radio spots for McDonald's, automotive dealerships, regional auto dealer groups, and Radio Shack (along with other Tandy entities).
TV, radio and print experience for more than 20 years.
TV and radio scripts - over 20 years' worth, plus a few videos for products like attic insulation.
Ann has more experience in PowerPoint than she cares to admit. She has prepared presentations for award ceremonies, presentations to win business, and presentations for internal communications.
Experience includes two years as editor in chief of an online publication where she was responsible for publishing 7-14 articles a week. Some she wrote, some she edited, and some she basically tore apart and completely re-worked.
Personal blog posts, hopefully of general interest and providing amusement for readers. Subjects ranging from health to travel and general stupidity.
