Valerie obtained her B.A. in English from the College of St. Catherine, a small liberal arts school in St. Paul, Minnesota. The writing skills she gained at this institution were a springboard into her copywriting career.
Valerie worked as a full time content marketer for six years, writing effective, custom content for several small- to medium-sized law firms throughout the United States. She worked on a variety of marketing solutions for clients, including blogs, articles, website content, pay-per-click ads, attorney/firm profiles, and social media. Skills gained in this position also include a solid understanding of how to produce SEO-rich content.
For almost seven years, Valerie wrote and managed the publishing of a variety of print and online pieces for a large health care provider in Minneapolis. This included establishing and maintaining the organization's social media presence - primarily on Facebook and Twitter. Other notable projects included website content, brochures, ads, newsletters and rebranding campaigns.
In her most recent employment position, Valerie spent the majority of her time writing legal blog posts for a variety of small- to medium-sized law firms throughout the United States. Topics included current news events, informational posts and tips, and answers to various legal questions.
Valerie has years of experience with writing website content in the legal, health care and nonprofit industries. Her most recent experience included interviewing law firms and writing web pages that accurately reflected their legal practice.
In her career, Valerie has written copy for numerous brochures on topics ranging from information about women's health to fundraising collateral for homeless shelters.
