In completion of the Permaculture Design Certificate, Ruth wrote several essays about nature and gardening.
As co-owner of a general bookstore, Ruth has written many book reviews for newsletters, newspaper columns, "shelf talkers" and the store web page.
Ruth has written articles for local newspapers as well as professional newsletters. Below is a short article written for the West Virginia Music Teachers Association Newsletter in 2013 while Ruth was the Chair of Arts Advocacy for the organization.
Ruth was the primary editor of the Four Seasons Books newsletter which was mailed out four times a year for almost ten years. In that capacity she wrote and solicited content, proofread, edited and did the layout, including several illustrations, for the newsletter.
As a bookstore owner, Ruth has written many book reviews. The following piece also ties in with her involvement with sustainability and ecological thinking.
