Susan completed her Ph.D. in history from the University of Iowa in 2007, with major fields in nineteenth and twentieth century United States history and a minor field in Medieval history.
Susan completed a Master of Arts in history from Eastern Illinois University in 1995.
Susan completed a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992, with a concentration in Archival Management.
Susan completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Grinnell College in 1991, with a major in American Studies.
Susan has taught United States history, World history, and Western Civilization at the college level, and has additionally authored numerous encyclopedia and reference articles. She is currently branching into educational content writing and has recently completed a set of North Carolina state standard history lessons, and written a guest blog post for a British educational company.
Susan holds a Ph.D. in history, and has, over the years, authored numerous encyclopedia and reference work articles, primarily in history and the social sciences, but also for the EBESCO Industries' Guide to Industries and Careers. More recently, she has shifted her work to commercial and educational content writing that includes multiple "city pages" for SI Leads providing demographic and health care information, and a set of North Carolina state standards history lessons.
