We launched a Contest at WriterAccess to thousands of writers asking for favorite writer "hang outs" online. We got a lot of submissions, and then sent our crack team of intrepid reporters (at least, that's what they say they are) slinking through the back alleys of the Web to find out more about these hip wordsmith destinations. The results was this Quick Link Guide, a substantial bar tab, and a lot of late-night phone calls with irate website owners who don't always like our questions or muse.
