Saul has been interested in languages since his childhood days in a bilingual family. After independently learning English without any teachers / tutors in 1970-ies and receiving an Honors Certificate from the State Foreign Language Courses (Leningrad, 1985), Saul continued to pursue his career in Survey & Mapping with occasional forays into the translation field. Then, in the early 1990-ies, he started to work as a full-time translator and in various other positions (Logistics, Procurement, Materials, etc.) which required bilingual (English-Russian) skills, before finally embarking on a highly successful career of a full-time freelance translator in 2006. This broadly diversified background gives Saul a distinct edge over translators with purely linguistic education and experience in translations of a wide range of technical and business-related subjects

Saul has translated thousands of business related documents for such end clients as McKinsey & Co., Bain & Co., Merrill Lynch, Sberbank, HP, BP, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Rosneft, Gazprom, Emerson, Exterran, Furukawa Electric, etc. This includes presentations, business correspondence, contracts, memos, newsletters, statements, reports, analyses, studies, etc. Saul is able to produce accurate translations of business documents thanks to, besides his extensive translation experience, his work in various business administration positions with several US companies and JVs in Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan from 1991 to 2006, when he became a full-time freelance translator.
