After receiving her master degree in Liberal Arts (specializing in Latin American Studies) from Utrecht University in The Netherlands in 1999, Vibeke for more than five years worked as a fulltime editor of teaching materials. After that Vibeke worked fulltime as an acquiring editor / publisher of non-fiction books (and serious games) about management, personal development, psychology, self-help, marketing and communication. Apart from coaching authors and instructing printing companies, translators, designers and editors, Vibeke in these years has edited more than 120 manuscripts and games and wrote articles, press releases and commercial texts.

Nowadays Vibeke applies all these valuable years of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm as a freelance translator and editor. She feels like a fish in water translating and proofreading texts from English and Spanish into Dutch. For almost 15 years Vibeke has worked in business environments as a Spanish teacher, an editor of teaching materials in management education and as a publisher of 120+ management books. She is very well-informed of business terminology and professional language and like no other knows how to translate and write accessible and understandable texts.

Food

Vibeke grew up in the middle of the countryside with a huge vegetable garden, a large old-fashioned orchard and a set of creative and committed parents. These were the main ingredients for her love of cooking, creative bias and international / cultural interests. Cooking and baking (with home-grown fruit and vegetables) Vibeke does from when she was 13.
This knowledge she now applies in translating articles, books and website texts about food and food products.

Hospitality

Vibeke has worked in the hospitality business for more than 15 years ranging from hotels to ice cream parlors in several European countries. She is very fond of this sector and knows it inside out. She now applies her expert knowledge for English and Spanish to Dutch translations of websites and brochures for hotels like Best Western, the Flemish Tourism office or the cruise company Big Mundo for example.

Garden

Vibeke grew up in the Dutch countryside. Her family had a huge vegetable and flower garden that bordered the crown estates. She learned gardening at her mothers knee and now keeps an allotment garden. Because of her extensive and specialized knowledge of gardening and nature her translations in this domain are of an excellent quality.
