Marni is particularly interested in education and the health sciences. She volunteers as a tutor in the Women's Education Center at Rosie's Place in Boston, helping women prepare for the math, reading and writing sections of the GED. She also leads crocheting workshops.

Completed master's degree in educational communication and technology at New York University's School of Education, Health, Nursing and Arts Professions, with a focus on adult education. Received Centennial Scholar scholarship.
Obtained dual bachelor's degree in public relations and psychology from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications and College of Arts and Sciences. Graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Kappa Tau Alpha honorary societies. Wrote an occasional column for The Daily Orange, and was a Traditions Commission officer. At Elsevier, Marni trained authors, coordinated reviews, edited text, and tested computerized nursing simulations and test review software. At McGraw-Hill, she orchestrated educational software development from design through distribution, including editing text and quality assurance testing. At AIG, she shepherded the claims systems documentation group from paper to electronic delivery, developed online help and computer-based training for proprietary systems, and supervised CBT developers and documentation writers. At Summit Systems, she wrote and updated end-user documentation for derivatives trading, risk analysis and back-office financial software. At Cognistar, she edited hundreds of online courses for lawyers and others.
At Elsevier, Marni recruited and trained authors, coordinated content reviews, edited text, and conducted quality assurance testing for computerized nursing simulations and test review software. At Wiley she supervised manuscript development, evaluated book proposals, and edited medical dictionary entries. At Park Row Publishers, she coordinated seminars, symposia and proceedings for continuing medical education programs. At McGraw-Hill, she orchestrated educational software development from design through distribution, with sole responsibility for editing text and conducting quality assurance testing. Marni also supervised computerized test bank and study guide development.

At Cognistar/SmartPros Legal & Ethics, Marni edited hundreds of online courses for lawyers and others. She streamlined the development process, reducing turnaround time by more than 75 percent. She conducted and coordinated quality assurance testing of courses, e-learning delivery systems, and learning management systems. She established and maintained a wiki to document key procedures. She trained and supervised course developers. And she spearheaded a webcasting initiative that delivered more than 30 live webcasts and archives in less than a year. Clients included law firms such as Pillsbury and Skadden, and organizations such as AIPLA and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
Marni shepherded AIG's claims systems documentation group from a paper-based operation to full-fledged electronic delivery, leading the development of online help and computer-based training for proprietary insurance claims systems. Supervised 8 CBT developers and documentation writers, ensuring usability, coherence, accuracy, consistency and adherence to standards, while maintaining a hands-on presence in design and development.
During her tenure at Park Row Publishers, Marni coordinated seminars, symposia and proceedings for continuing medical education programs, including editing transcripts and proceedings for such clients as DuPont Pharmaceuticals, Burroughs Wellcome, Searle, Eli Lilly and Glaxo.
