Jaclyn's design specialties include UX/UI Design, web design, interactive design, brand identity, design systems, grayscale wireframes, marketing, brand management, responsive design and more. She began her career in graphic design and later became a subject matter expert at a previous company that pushed for interactive content. Through understanding the importance of the user journey, Jaclyn realized the impact she could have on website experiences.
Jaclyn's design interests include simplifying pages with both language and design layout. She understands that users' attention spans are dwindling and portraying clear, concise messaging and benefits are of utmost importance. Removing jargon while also enhancing product visualization are two important ways to achieve this. Taking this to another level is simplifying page layout and adding interactivity to engage the users at a deeper level.
This leads to another design interest of Jaclyn's which is adding interactivity and animation to enhance a web experience. Instead of having massive chunks of copy, teams can utilize dropdowns, carousels, or tabs to break up information into more digestible and intriguing formats for users.
Jaclyn has worked within the B2B software as a service industry for most of her 7 years of experience. She enjoys working closely with product marketers because that's where she starts to fully understand the product and from there she can start to imagine the best ways to visualize this for users. Product screenshots and videos are highly important aspects for this industry because they are what users' eyes gravitate to first.
Jaclyn worked for a B2C email marketing software company that primarily helps businesses create branded emails, websites, online stores and more in one online marketing platform. She joined the team during a rebranded effort and took the marketing pages to new levels. Collaborating closely with content writers, Jaclyn fostered great relationships to allow healthy back-and-forth to present the best content to the user at the right time. She was even able to pitch an interactive platform demo experience to bring to the front of site for prospects to engage with and capture lead information.
Jaclyn has been working in web design for over 3 years and took part in 2 company redesigns. Within redesigns, she's been able to recommend strong branding considerations for background elements, product screenshots styling, and interaction enhancement. Within ordinary day to day projects, she works with clients to overhaul pages completely or add minor improvements here and there. Jaclyn always makes sure to understand the user and gather a full picture of their journey from point A to point Z. The one webpage the team is working on communicates with other pages and other mediums, so it's important to have a full picture of user interactions.
While not all web projects require a wireframe, Jaclyn finds that wireframe mockups elevate the client and her working relationship as well as the user's experience with the end result. Creating a wireframe allows Jaclyn and her client to full communicate the pros and cons to page layouts and the necessary sections and how they'll function. This is an important phase of the project because it removes bias and subjective feedback regarding color, copy, and content.
