Desmond pays very careful attention to color theory in his pieces, and is always experimenting with new ways to express emotions and thoughts through color.
His art is smooth, using contrasting colors instead of lines in many places, and toys with perspective and fluidity in shapes often. Creating unique, recognizable sillouettes is also very important to him!
Interests for Desmond include, but are not limited to, cartoons (heavily inspired by Cartoon Network shows, LAIKA productions, and indie animators), midcentury design, spirituality, 70's funk/soul, and, of course, color theory!
In his free time, he also enjoys spending time outside in nature, especially hiking around lakes or rivers.
They incorperate elements of graphic, exterior, interior, and fashion design in their illustrations.
As well as digital illustration, Desmond also creates tattoo art, sculpture, and decorations.
All of Desmond's illustrations are digital pieces created in Krita, most of which are sized around 3500 x 3500.
Abstract Art is one of many styles Desmond has experimented with over the years. Many of his personal art pieces are abstract, heavily stylized, or symbolic in nature.
Desmond hand draws infographics regularly, experimenting with different hand-drawn fonts, shapes, and accompanying illustrations.
Desmond has illustrated book covers for:
Ruby at the Beach - Douglas Dove, 2018
On my walk with Nome, The Very Very Scary Monster House - Cindy Schneider, 2019
