How WriterAccess Brings You the Cream of the Crop

We have over 15,000 content creation experts working hard to bring you the very best writing, editing and strategy. But how do we find the very best writers, and make sure that they keep performing to the standards that allow us to provide you with guaranteed satisfaction and delight on every project? It’s no small feat: our writers go through a rigorous process to get started, and from there they must continually meet our exacting standards of performance to maintain their standing.

Let’s take a look at what goes into making a freelancer a WriterAccess pro.

The Application Process: Finding the Best

Before a writer can even begin tapping keys at WriterAccess, they go through a thorough application procedure with the Talent Management team. The first thing a writer must do is submit an application with information on their background and experience. If they’re approved through this initial step, hey may take a proficiency test to assess their writing and grammar skills. From there, writers must complete an in-depth application and submit writing samples. Part of the application is providing proof of U.S. residency, verified endorsements and taking a look at how successful they are at using social media. If accepted through this process, the fledgling writer may fill out their profile.

Isn’t this a lot to go through before a writer even sees any work? Yes, but the high barrier to entry is something we value. The in-depth application process ensures that we attract the very best talent and can offer our writers the most competitive rates on the market. Plus, providing superb support and professional development resources is something we love making available to writers we feel are a great representation of WriterAccess!

The Rating System: Keeping the Best

Once a writer is approved and has completed their profile, the next stage of ensuring that all the writers you work with are up to top standards is our comprehensive rating system. This system is based on stars, and writers range from 2 stars to 6 stars. The initial star assignment is assigned after a talent manager carefully reviews all aspects of a writer’s profile, application and writing samples. The initial star assignment could be anywhere from a 2 to a 5, and from there it can rise or fall based on performance. However, a writer is highly motivated to maintain and raise their star level, because higher star levels mean access to higher paying jobs. And the way to rise is by consistently providing great writing.

There is an algorithm in place that constantly monitors everything a writer does. This means that every time a writer has a successful order completion, receives positive customer reviews or endorsements, is selected for a casting call, or gets a positive order rating, the algorithm takes notice of this positive work done on our platform. Conversely, unhappy clients and dropped orders will be counted negatively by the algorithm and will cause the writer to risk losing a star or other privileges.

While we’re bullish on our proprietary technology, we don’t rely solely on it to manage our freelancers. Our detailed algorithm helps us identify who deserves a star level boost or who may need improvement, but our rock star talent managers are constantly performing manual reviews of the writers’ performance and content quality. It’s our goal to set all writers’ star levels fairly based on the quality and expertise a customer can expect.
